Our latest video release is now up on the Jonny Hepbir Trio Youtube channel, our take on one of the true jazz classics is already getting a lot of attention from viewers.
The origin of ‘Sweet Georgia Brown’ was apparently that it was named after the daughter (1911) of Dr. George Thaddeus Brown, a longtime member of the State House of Representatives for Georgia.
She was to be named Georgia after the state, an anecdote which would be directly referenced by the song’s lyric: “Georgia claimed her – Georgia named her.”
It’s also – The Harlem Globetrotters theme tune, a classic brand of hair pomades, a female wrestler, a karaoke brand, a bunch of restaurants, a chocolate brand and slang for heroin!!
If you have an #event or #function of any kind and want a musical kick to get everyone in the mood then we can offer everything from Solo Guitar, Duo, Trio, Quartet with female vocals, Instrumental Quartet right up to our full Quintet. Each line-up can be tailored to your Event with choices of instrumentation to suit any situation whether up-front dancing or more chilled for background.
