The JONNY HEPBIR QUARTET had a super time last week playing for the nice folk at Fleece Jazz hosted monthly at the very nice Stoke by Nayland Hotel on the Essex and Suffolk border.
With great sound tech available, we played purely acoustically with just mics on the instruments. It's how we record all our videos and albums, no amps. This is the best way to hear classic, all-strings jazz especially in a concert setting.
During a song I went and sat next to a couple in the front row, playing my guitar to demonstrate the 'joy of acoustic' point.
We also play acoustic for quite a few private events and weddings where the venue has sound restrictions.
It was a real pleasure to tap into our back catalogue of tunes and pomping them out with an earthy sound for a such great audience!
