UK Gypsy Jazz Trio to play renowned Dorset Jazz Festival in Summer 2018.
With 2018 well under way, we have a few public dates on the horizon.
One excellent event the JONNY HEPBIR TRIO have been invited to play at is a popular but newly revamped #festival down in deepest #Dorset.
The Swanage Jazz Festival has been running for 28 years since 1990 and has had some of the biggest names and finest musicians in jazz appearing over the years.
Due to many issues, it was all about to collapse when the outgoing festival committee decided to offer out the huge task of festival director to new blood. Not an easy job but one the excellent, award-winning British jazz guitar maestro, Nigel Price decided to take on board.
After a hefty social media and crowd-funding campaign, Nigel managed to get the wheels turning and has delivered a top-notch line-up to satisfy the music-hungry crowds as they descend on the small seaside town of #Swanage over the weekend of Friday 13th – Sunday 15th July 2018.
It was very humbling to get an invite to play at this first new-look event.
We’ll be playing three shows over the weekend. The first is on Friday 13th July 9.00pm-11.30pm at the White Swan. Saturday 14th July we’re at the Con Club 11.30am-2.00pm and finally on Sunday 15th July 3.00pm-5.00pm at the Black Swan. All the swans!
We’re really looking forward to playing this great festival and watching many of the other fab bands including fellow Gypsy jazzer, the wonderful Paulus Schafer from Holland. Thank you Nigel!
