JONNY HEPBIR GYPSY JAZZ GUITARIST seen above performing with Somerset-based Gypsy Jazz band Quartet Belleville Hot at Bridgwater Arts Centre.
This was an excellent concert and the second in a limited series of performances organised by rhythm guitarist Dave Lunniss. Every venue had a great turnout, and we proudly upheld the Django Reinhardt spirit in the West Country.
It was a real pleasure to play again with Dave and the superb Ron Phelan on double bass. This time we were joined by violinist Clare MacTaggart for that authentic Parisian vibe.

Last week on the hottest day, I was performing Solo for Ashford Food & Drink Festival at Revelation Ashford. I can't remember how many times I've played at this great Kent venue and you'd think because it was an ancient stone church that it would be nice and frosty inside. No, it was sweltering!

Next up I'm playing at Goodwood Festival Of Speed in West Sussex for the duration, it's been 11 years since I did this one last! Looking forward to seeing old friends and checking out some hot automobile action.
The last time I was there I caught up with Jay Kay from ace funksters Jamiroquai and joined the gruesome twosome in the Creepy Coupe from Whacky Races fame.
GYPSY JAZZ CONCERTS
I'm thrilled to announce two special Gypsy Jazz concerts coming up in Kent.
The first event is part of the Official Broadstairs Folk Week, featuring myself and my dear friend Roberto Soto.
This concert will showcase traditional Gypsy Jazz, and I am truly honored to have been invited to perform this year and be part of the official music and events lineup.
Roberto and I have been performing Gypsy Jazz together for nearly ten years, so there's a lot of on-stage chemistry. The audience can look forward to fiery solos, rhythmic interplay, moving ballads, and infectious foot-tapping swing all in the style of Django Reinhardt!
The concert is scheduled for early in the day, at 11am on Friday, August 14th at the Queens Road Baptist Church.

On Thursday, 12th November at 7.30pm, you can experience the Roma maestro Ducato Piotrowski live at Rosslyn Court.
Ducato Piotrowski is a leading London-based Gypsy Jazz guitarist known both in the U.K. and internationally. Renowned for his ‘fiery’ style inspired by Django Reinhardt, he regularly performs at prestigious venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, the Royal Festival Hall, and Pizza Express Jazz Club.
He is the preferred musician for many famous European Sinti (Gypsy) guitarists when they play in the U.K., including Mozes Rosenberg, Paulus Schafer, and Wawau Adler among others.
He also collaborates on projects with a variety of musicians such as Mercury Prize-winning pianist Joe Webb and clarinettist Giacomo Smith.
Joining Ducato for what is sure to be an electrifying concert are Margate Gypsy Jazz guitarist Jonny Hepbir and bassist Jerome Davies.'
