The Duo consists of guitar with a choice of either a second guitar, double bass, violin, accordion or saxophone/clarinet as the second instrument.
The classic Trio consists of two guitars and double bass (seen playing the popular Latin standard 'Manha de Carnaval on the video below). But it's no problem to have different instrumentation, simply take one guitar then add the two other instruments of your choice from second guitar, double bass, violin, accordion or sax/clarinet.
