The GYPSY JAZZ GUITAR WORKSHOP at Rosslyn Court in Margate, Kent seen here from last Sunday in full swing.

This picture was actually from the jam session after where I was joined by my friend Roberto to play a couple of numbers before everyone joined in.

A great afternoon was had by all as we worked on four Django Reinhardt tunes for a few hours. We studied the rhythm and looked at different techniques and tempos to get a better understanding of the pieces.

There were a couple of novices attending, which was great. I had plenty of top tips for the more experienced players. At the end of the session, everyone was 'pomping' along at a good speed with some soloists amongst them.

There were players from all over Kent in attendance and I made sure everyone went away with plenty to work on. There was a great sense of community playing and no pressure to become an instant Django.

I'll be holding another workshop sometime in the coming months, full details to be announced here and on my social media.
