It's always fun when we get booked at some of the top London venues. The JONNY HEPBIR GYPSY JAZZ QUARTET with vocals was just the ticket for a private party at the rather grandiose Royal Automobile Club in London's Pall Mall area. This magnificent building was soon ringing out with sound of hot swing jazz.
One of the members was celebrating a birthday with a small gathering of about a hundred and fifty guests! Once dinner was over, the band took to the stage/alcove area as the tables were removed and dancing ensued.
With our winning combination of jazz and Latin classics combined with the hypnotic rhythm of French Parisian swing, we kept the revellers on their feet for the rest of the night.
I like to always try and get a good 'in-action' band shot but space was a bit limited so we crammed in for this selfie.
There were plenty of groovy, car-related things to look at while we were there. Like this Alpha Romeo Disco Volante Spyder, a 2016 recreation of the 1952 version, only seven made. Then there's the snazzy taps, 0 to tsunami in under a second, vrooooom splash!
