This Sunday, Margate-based Gypsy Jazz guitar maestro Jonny Hepbir is playing at Fez, Margate on Margate's High Street.
Jonny, who has been working as a professional guitarist and guitar teacher for over twenty years, has played with many of the great names in Gypsy Jazz today, including Bireli Lagrene, Lulu Reinhardt, and Stochelo Rosenberg.
His renowned playing has taken him all over the UK and Europe, so it's exciting to see him play here again in Margate, and in one of Jonny's favourite bars in town. Jonny told us he loves playing in Fez because of the friendly atmosphere, saying 'It’s great that Margate has such a cool bar where people can hear Django Reinhardt style guitar music. I’ve been playing there regularly for 5 years now. Phil Evans the owner is very supportive and people seem to love the pumping swing guitar sound!'
Listeners will be treated to Django Reinhardt style classics and a few funky Latin groovers over the afternoon, starting at 3pm.
