JONNY HEPBIR GYPSY JAZZ GUITARIST at Broadstairs Jazz Festival in Broadstairs, Kent this coming weekend Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th October.
Organised/curated by the award-winning Magnet and now in its second year, the weekend will see over 60 performances featuring a myriad of jazz styles. Most of the gigs are FREE and there are over 15 different venues in town hosting the events.

I'll be playing four gigs with different set-ups but all with a Django Reinhardt flavour.
Friday 3rd October 5.30 - 7.30pm - Loulou Swing Duo at Delilah's - 28 Thanet Road Broadstairs.
Vocals & guitar playing classic swing jazz drawing heavily on the Great American Songbook with a few surprises. Featuring renowned Big Band singer Louise Cookman on the mic.
Saturday 4th October 2.30 - 4.30pm - Metro Vipers - The Magnet - 37 Albion Street Broadstairs.
Playing at the host venue on Saturday, Metro Vipers bring their own brand of swing to the house. This gig will be super-fun. Combining top musicianship and cool vocal harmonies, the band have some quirky numbers in their repertoire. Featuring the equally talented Jarrod Coombes & Ivan Thompson.
Saturday 4th October 5.15 - 7.15pm - Jonny Hepbir Swing Guitar - Delilah's - 28 Thanet Road Broadstairs.
Bit of an intense day but I don't care, I just love playing guitar all the time. I'll be shooting up the road after the Magnet gig to settle down once again in Delilah's this time on my own.
This will be a pure Django/Gypsy Jazz set. No re-workings of pop tunes and very few standards. I shall be choosing only the best and slightly obscure Gypsy Swing tunes to air. Come on down and keep me company. There will be hypnotic pompe and lots and lots of notes.
Sunday 5th October 5 - 7pm - Jonny Hepbir 'DJANGONG' Trio featuring Gong's Ian East on Sax & Jerome Davies on Double Bass - Sonder - 11-13 Charlotte Street Broadstairs.
This is going to be fun! I couldn't resist doing this poster. This performance features the fabulous Ian East on tenor sax who just happens to be a member of influential hippy trippy band Gong. Don't be fooled, no mushroom-influenced noodlings here, Ian's a jazz beast and I'm really looking forward to playing swing with him. The band also has the excellent Jerome Davies on double bass. Another intense day as earlier, Jerome and I will be playing a private duo booking at the Walpole Bay Hotel in Margate.
So come on over to Broadstairs this weekend, there's loads going on!
